What is Traditional Character™ by HomerWood?
Our floors beautifully preserve and reveal all of the trees' natural wood characteristics. Hand crafted using the entire tree; natural characteristics may include an array of open and filled knots, original markings, distinctive graining, splits and checks, sap, mineral streaks, color variations and embodied cracks.
We take special care to uphold the highest quality and visual appeal and remove any defects that could weaken the floor. The result is an elegant floor that features both clear and character planks that reflect the greatest attributes of natural wood.
Since every tree provides us with its own unique natural characteristics, newly installed floors may vary from samples or pictures shown. Color, size quantity, type and location of character marks vary with each species and each plank width. Natural color variation in raw material will dictate the final shade of stain. Wood will react to changes in moisture and humidity. In order for your floor to perform properly, indoor humidity should be maintained between 35-55% year round. Follow NWFA guidelines and use a NWFA certified installer.

Sweep or vacuum* the floor frequently to remove loose dirt befor it can scratch or be ground into the surface of the floor. Wipe up spills immediately. For spot cleaning use hardwood flooring cleaner made for use with uretane finish and follow the manufacturers recommended cleaning cleaning procedures. Never apply wax or cleaning products that are not specifically made for use with urethane finished hardwood flooring.
